Modern neighbourhood playground

Whitehorse City Council engaged adventure+ to redevelop the playground at Koonung Creek Reserve and our designers created something that ticks all the boxes! Large enough to enable many children to play simultaneously, coupled with a wide range of different play activities, make it a popular play space for the local community.

Attractive & engaging

Community playgrounds in urban settings, parks and neighbourhoods do much more than entice kids to run, play and be active, a well-designed play space encourages the development of essential life skills and habits. Koonung Creek Reserve is a perfect example of a playground that does just that.

Designed with community input

Feedback from the local community had a key influence on the playground design. Due to the large adventure+ range of play equipment and ability to customise, almost all the community feedback and requirements were able to be included. Elements such as the climbing cube, rock wall, carousel, monkey bars and swings catered for the community’s requests while also adding play value for all ages.

Considered design for inclusion

Carefully planned to suit both the children and parents, rubber pathways weave throughout the play space to provide easy access for carers with prams. Additionally, the space includes seating for residents wanting to extend their visit to the reserve.
